November 11, 2009 by

Manhattan Center just wrapped up recording and mixing sessions for the score for Julie Taymore’s new film adaptation of The Tempest. The score was written by Elliot Goldenthal, co-produced by Goldenthal and Teese Gohl, and recorded by Joel Iwataki.

Next week, Manhattan Center will host another film score recording session, this one an 85-piece orchestral tracking session for Did You Hear About The Morgans, directed by Marc Lawrence with music by Terry Shapiro. Morgans stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Huge Grant.

Orchestral tracking sessions go down in the Grand Ballroom, which is linked to both Studio 7 — the 96-channel Neve VR/Pro Tools HD/5.1-equipped recording/mixing room — and Studio 4 — The “Log Cabin” Pro Tools HD/Neve VR with designated live room, booth and lounge.
