New Dance Club, District 36, To Open This Fall: High-Tech Room Will Host Victor Calderone DJ Residency

The fall opening of a new three-level dance club, District 36, has been announced. Launching with the ambitious agenda of putting NYC back into the center of the global clubbing scene, the venue is designed to uphold the tradition of classic New York dance clubs by incorporating exceptional music programming and a highly engineered sound system.

Globally recognized firm Gary Stewart Audio created the system. Musical Director for the venue will be Taimur Agha, the force behind the BlkMarket Membership parties – he and fellow BlkMarket resident Fahad will also be serving as District 36 resident DJs. On the events side, District 36 Special Events Director Lee Blumer, formerly of Hammerstein Ballroom, crobar and M2, will also be on the team.

In addition, the club will feature the next incarnation of Victor Calderone’s EVOLVE DJ residency. The top New York DJ selected the club as the site of his next residency based on District 36’s commitment to superior sound, and its focus on building a technology-driven room for the next generation of clubbers.

“As a DJ it’s important to establish a connection with your audience and after traveling the world, instituting a regular base in NYC is like coming home,” Calderone said. “This residency will be a fresh start and as an artist it’s important to evolve, reenergize the crowd as well as myself and always stay ahead of the curve. Together we will build a new home for clubbers.”
