bigfoote music + sound Signs Composer Jeremy Turner

NYC’s bigfoote music + sound has signed composer Jeremy Turner to their roster.

Jeremy Turner brings his cello and mad composition skillz to bigfoote.

A versatile writer for orchestra, TV and film, Turners recent credits include GEICO Wabbits, and Google’s Parisian Love, which aired during Super Bowl XLIV; orchestrations for the soprano Renée Fleming; cello on Sufjan Steven’s latest album The Age of Adz; as well as arranging and performing for Yves Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2011 show.

Now in his 14th season in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Turner serves as assistant principal cello – he has also played a season with the Auckland Philharmonia in New Zealand, and also performs regularly at Carnegie Hall.

On the popular music front, Turner has recorded and performed David Byrne, My Morning Jacket and Lupe Fiasco. As a singer, guitarist, and keyboardist, he released his first album, Circles Are Landing, with his band Marlin Drixan in 2006. Among other awards, Turner earned a 2010 AICP Award for Original Music.

Turner, the first addition to bigfoote’s lineup in 12 years, joins composers Sherman Foote, Kari Steinert, Matt Hauser, Chris Jordao, Darren Solomon, Lou King and Steve DePalo. He joins the music house from Analogue Muse, where he was a founding partner.
