Platinum Sound Upgrades Studio K with Augspurger Monitors

Platinum Sound Recording Studios has made a significant addition to its Studio K, installing a pair of custom George Augspurger monitors in the room. Once housed in Sony Studios’ Studio A, the new mains promise to make an extremely powerful supplement to Platinum’s 80 channel SSL 9000K.

Paired with Bryston amplifiers and a BSS crossover in the ~425 sq. ft. control room, the Augspurgers are apparently making their presence felt. “As a result, we may be one of — if not THE — loudest studios on the East Coast,” says Platinum’s Emily Hansen.
