More Power In New & Improved API Lunchboxes

API‘s new and improved Lunchbox, announced at AES last October, features an increased power supply current of 215mA per slot, the addition of DB-25 connectors for easy input and output connection and XLR access to channels 7 and 8 of the multi-pins.

The newly re-engineered API Lunchbox

The revamped lunchbox also provides individual power rail LED indication and re-settable fuses on the power rail of each slot, so that one faulty module will not affect the others. The addition of a 100 VAC input voltage tap allows for wider international versatility.

The lunchbox still has six slots for standard API 500-Series modules, an internal phantom power supply and rugged steel chassis. For now, the new lunchbox remains priced at $499.

The first round of 100 Lunchboxes promptly sold out, and API assures it’s hard at work manufacturing the next rounds of the popular workhorse frame for 500-Series modules, a format for which many manufacturers including Rupert Neve, Buzz Audio, Burl, Chandler, Empirical Labs, Purple Audio and more are developing preamps, EQs and compressor units.
