Yessian Produces Dream-Pop “Don’t Fence Me In” For Wieden + Kennedy Nokia Spot

Yessian recently partnered with Wieden + Kennedy New York to provide music for a Nokia spot which aired during the Grammy Awards and will air again during the Oscars this weekend.

Directed by Malcolm Venville of Anonymous Content, “Don’t Fence Me In” features the new Nokia N8 smart phone, and artists Daniel Johnson and Brie Stoner singing a cover of the classic Cole Porter song, “Don’t Fence Me In.”

“W+K was looking for bands to create a unique cover of Cole Porter’s ‘Don’t Fence Me In,’” says Yessian’s NYC-based Executive Producer Mary Ellen O’Brien.

“After reviewing the brief and storyboard, as well as the body of work done by the director and editor, we brainstormed on which artists could create the most unique and compelling takes of the song. We heard the agency received over 100 tracks so we were thrilled that the version by Daniel Johnson and Brie Stoner was the winning track.”

With offices in New York, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Hamburg Germany, Yessian is a global collective of producers, composers, music supervisors, research creatives and recording artists. With six full service recording studios and Dragon Licks, a music licensing and research division of indie bands and well-known artists (Dashboard Confessional, Paul Westerberg, School of Seven Bells), the studio offers a complete source for music, sound design and soundscapes.
