Avid Releases Beirut’s “A Sunday Smile,” Recorded On Pro Tools HD|Native at “Inside Sessions”

Back at the very beginning of Summer, we partnered with Avid to put on the first of our “Inside Sessions” series, featuring Beirut recording at Stratosphere Sound in Chelsea.

Now, the song Beirut recorded as part of this event – a gorgeous new rendition of the Flying Club Cup favorite “A Sunday Smile” – is available exclusively from Avid. Get it here!

Led by Zach Condon on ukulele with bandmates Kelly Pratt (horns), Nick Petree (drums), Paul Collins (bass) and Perrin Cloutier (accordion), Beirut tracked this expanded arrangement of the song on Avid’s Pro Tools HD Native system, with producer Griffin Rodriguez and Geoff Sanoff engineering, and the “Inside Sessions” audience in attendance.

The song was also mixed on a Pro Tools HD|Native system.

Watch our video from “Inside Sessions” below, where you’ll hear from Condon, Rodriguez and Sanoff on their recording experience and impressions of Pro Tools|HD Native, with behind-the-scenes footage from the event, sponsored by Jose Cuervo Platino and Tiger Beer.

Pre-Order Beirut’s new album, The Rip Tide, HERE. The physical record comes out August 30; it is available digitally now.
