Rain Computers (NJ) Announces LiveBook V2

Rain Computers (Ringwood, NJ) has announced the release of their new flagship laptop, the Intel quad-core powered LiveBook V2 Mobile Video + Graphics Workstation.

The Rain LiveBook V2 brings it for multimedia producers.

Although this PC laptop is optimized for video, there appears to be plenty of power for professional audio users — it is the portable counterpart to Rain’s Venturi desktop, and designed to deliver equivalent processing power. The LiveBook V2 can be optimized with a 2.5GHz Intel “Sandy Bridge” Core i7 quad-core processor, two high performance hard drives, a choice of NVIDIA GeForce or Quadro graphics and 32 gigabytes of memory, rarely if ever seen in a mobile computer.

The LiveBook V2 can be configured with a true workstation graphics accelerator from chipmaker NVIDIA‘s professional Quadro series. The Quadro is specifically designed to interface with industry-standard creative software used the world over for computer aided design (CAD), animation and video editing.

With LiveBook V2 (the V stands for video) Rain again worked with technology partners including Adobe Systems and Avid, makers of Photoshop and Media Composer respectively, to ensure maximum power, stability and reliability.

The new quad-core LiveBook V2 Mobile Video + Graphics Workstation is available now through the Rain Computers website starting at $2499. It will be available soon at Rain Authorized Dealers including Best Buy, Amazon and B&H Photo.
