CharterOak to Release H1000 Large Diaphragm Condenser Mic at Musikmesse

CharterOak, the specialized mic manufacturer based in Enfield, CT, will be launching its new H1000 large diaphragm condenser microphone at the 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse show, taking place March 21-24.

High time for a new mic! The CharterOak H1000 arrives this month.

The mic made its debut for demos at AES in NYC this past October.

According to CharterOak, the H1000 (MSP: $2200)  is designed to be a dedicated vocal microphone that will appeal to engineers with vintage tastes, but who also want high headroom clarity and detail.

Here’s more from Charter Oak on their long-awaited baby:

“The H1000 has a focused mid-range and very big sound stage. Our high voltage head amplifier and S-1 capsule provides extremely high head room, very nice detail without being harsh, and a robust bottom end. The microphone comes fitted with a 6dB per octave low end roll off starting at 100Hz and and 10dB attenuator.

The microphone’s large body size is a result of large components used in the design such as the microphone’s Lundahl transformer and 400V polypropylene film capacitors. The microphone is free of unwanted body resonance as a result of the use of new powder coatings that solve the problem.

The company’s founder [Michael Demming], a recording engineer and producer with 20 years experience, maintains his vision to provide the level of quality and service that he always wanted to receive as an end user.
