Dark Side of the Tune Launches “Time Wave Zero” Experimental Sound Library

Here’s some fresh sounds to freak out your ears, just in time for the New Year.

Check out TWZ PDQ.

This striking palette – which ranges from haunting to pleasingly atmospheric to our ears – comes courtesy of experimental library creators Dark Side of the Tune, working out of Seattle. Entitled Time Wave Zero, the 490-sound/308 MB sample library is made especially for Native Instruments’ Maschine hardware/software groovebox, but can be used by a wide variety of samplers.

TWZ is available now for $29.99 – read on for more distinctive details from this clearly confident company:

“As we race toward interconnectedness, the universe eventually reaches a singularity of infinite complexity, at which point everything occurs simultaneously.  What if we used the complexity of sound to expand beyond genre-defining vintage instruments, or create new genres altogether?

In a move to redefine electronic music mastery, Dark Side of the Tune released today Time Wave Zero, a 490-sound sample library that moves beyond pre-conception, and resets sound in a futuristic, spontaneous environment.

Modular synthesis techniques evolve the synth aesthetic beyond brand-based character, with many modern analog synthesizer units used in tandem:  no virtual or vintage instruments were harmed in the making of Time Wave Zero.

Bucking the trend of static mono samples, the new library includes many multi-samples, as well as stereo samples adding depth and space with analog time-based effects.  As a result, most of the sounds are velocity sensitive and playable, similar to an analog instrument. Time Wave Zero can be purchased at http://www.darksideofthetune.com for $29.99.

‘Maschine users will find an immersive experience, with programs, filter, and envelope/velocity settings already set up for editing,” said Shawn Shirey, chief sound designer for DSOTT.  ‘The libraries are formatted for easier set up with other sampling programs.’

Based in Seattle, Dark Side of the Tune is an experimental sample library company founded in 2008.  The company’s core objective is to get high quality, original sounds to the best producers, D.J.s, musicians, post-production and hobbyists in the world. Visit http://www.darksideofthetune.com.”
