An interesting sideline for LaPorta is his role as a consultant for one of the world’s top forensic musicologists. He has analyzed cases for hundreds of artists, including The Beatles and Michael Jackson.

At Sterling Sound, LaPorta joins a team led by the world-renowned mastering engineers Ted Jensen and Greg Calbi. Also on Sterling’s mastering staff are Tom Coyne, Chris Gehringer, Ryan Smith, Ue Nastasi, Steve Fallone, Will Quinnell, Justin Shturtz, Jay Franco, Aya Merrill, Kevin Reeves, Seth Foster, and Eliot Kissileff.

“Joining Sterling Sound was a pretty easy decision to make,” LaPorta said. “Besides being one of the top mastering facilities in the world that hosts some heavy-hitting mastering legends, it’s also an incredibly seamless operation. Everything from the dedicated staff and constantly evolving website, to their specialized gear is very impressive.

“It’s also quite invigorating to be able to work in a room next to some really accomplished mastering engineers who are still humble, down to earth, and work very hard,” LaPorta continues. “Sterling is a perfect match because it feels like the right decision for me at this point in my career. It’s a place where I can continue to grow and to do what I love in a supportive and inspiring environment.”
