Harrison Consoles Announces New Plug-In Series + v2.3 Update for Mixbus DAW

If you’re not familiar with Harrison Consoles, here’s a quick history lesson: Bruce Swedien made Michael Jackson’s Thriller and BAD on a Harrison console. Paul Simon’s Graceland and sound for countless feature films have been mixed on Harrison consoles. And now, with its newly updated proprietary open-source DAW, Mixbus v2.3, Harrison is working to become even more of a household name with modern studios and musician-recordists.

Mixbus is based on the Ardour open-source DAW and was first introduced back in 2009. The v2.3 update – announced last week – brings new improvements including a faster routing setup, enhanced keyboard layout, and a more refined editing workflow. But beyond that, Mixbus v2.3 also coincides with the launch of Harrison’s new XTools plug-in series, which is releasing with an initial set of three dynamics plugins that will be compatible with Mixbus or can be purchased separately for Mac, PC and Linux.

The three initial releases include XT-ME Mastering Equalizer, XT-MC Multi-Band Compressor and XT-EQ Equalizer.

The powerful "True Analog Mixing"™ window allows users to record as if they were tracking on an original Harrison console.

Of the XTools set, a launch price is available for all three plugins with XT-ME for $79 ($100 MSRP), XT-MC for $79 ($100 MSRP) and XT-EQ for $39 ($49 MSRP).
