In his new book, The Music Producer’s Survival Guide: Chaos, Creativity, and Career in Independent and Electronic Music, producer, engineer, and educator Brian Jackson provides an intellectually stimulating approach to discussing the business and practice of independent electronic music production.

The book hones in on concepts such as networking, creativity, producer tips, DIY tips, producer lifestyle and even the space-time continuum — all within a philosophical framework to give aspiring and professional producers alike an inspiriting and interesting read.

Brian Jackson is co-owner and Director of Education at Devotion Gallery, an Ableton Certified Training Center in Brooklyn, and owner of Brooklyn studio Form Labs. He is technical editor of books on Ableton and Pro Tools, the author behind multiple DVD tutorials for Ableton Live, as well as a regular contributor to the DIY scene.

After his entry to Detroit’s underground music culture over two decades ago, he has since produced and performed in many different electronic styles and projects, including in the innovative electro-acoustic project “I Am Spoonbender”.

The Music Producer’s Survival Guide may just hold some of the tips and perspective you’ve been looking for. It is available now at amazon.com for $25.03.
