Promax is back! A really big show comes to NYC June 10-12.

Promax is back! A really big show comes to NYC June 10-12.

PromaxBDA: The Conference 2014  is set to take Manhattan June 10-12 at the New York Hilton Midtown. As a leading association for promotion, marketing and design professionals in the entertainment industry, PromaxBDA’s annual conference is a special opportunity for music-four-picture professionals to gain valuable industry intelligence, and forge fresh connections.

The price of admission to this three-day show does not come cheap. However, its gathering together of directors, producers, creative directors, brand managers and more, makes it worth strong consideration. Composers, production music libraries, and publishers may want to invest in this opportunity to swim in the same pool with otherwise hard-to-reach decision-makers.

The entire schedule for the conference is tantalizing, but here are the music-related highlights that we’ve noticed:

BRANDANALYSIS
A Deep Dive into the Rebranding of CCTV International
Upon embarking on this project, Flint Skallen, Stephen Arnold Music and Broadcast Design International didn’t quite realize they had been tasked with a project like no other. Sure, there were the typical challenges of any big rebranding project – new positioning, new identity, new design – but coupled with those on this project were overcoming language barriers, learning and respecting cultural influences, and, of course, the U.S., EU and China time differences. To some, a logistical nightmare. But to this group, the comprehensive rebranding assignment was one of the most creatively satisfying, intellectually and invigorating assignments they’ve ever been a part of. It promises to be a fascinating journey. #cctv
