Augspurger Launches Duo 12.3 DSP – New Compact Studio Monitor

There are big names in monitors, and there are HUGE names.

The nomenclature that is Augspurger arguably looms huger than them all, and now there’s a new addition to this legendary line. Introduced by Professional Audio Design at Summer NAMM this week, the Augspurger Duo 12.3 DSP has arrived.

The Duo 12.3 DSP aims to take the considerable physical size of Augspurger setups out of the equation for studios. According to PAD, the new system “captures the magic of the original Augspurger design in a compact format, but with all the clarity, depth and power of its larger siblings.”

Noteworthy features include main monitor cabinets with dual 12″ drivers, the distinctive Augspurger wooden horn with custom compression driver with beryllium diaphragm, and separate subwoofer cabinets with high excursion 12″ drivers.

Everything is powered by cabinet-mounted Class-D Amplifier systems, with 2500W per side (1000W to Sub, 1000W to Mid drivers, 500W to Horn). Extensive DSP provides crossover, limiting, driver alignment and system equalization.

The Augspurger Duo 12.3 DSP is available now – contact PAD for pricing. Meanwhile, the inaugural pair is already spoken for: it will grace Quad Studios’ Q2 in New York City later this month.
