Return of “Trust Me, I’m a Scientist”! (And SonicScoop Contributing Editor Justin Colletti)

Trust Me, I'm a Scientist returns.

“Trust Me, I’m a Scientist” returns!

This week, we’re excited to announce that one of our favorite sister sites, Trust Me, I’m a Scientist, will be relaunching as a member of the SonicScoop content network!

In just a few short years, TMIAS became one of our readers’ favorite destinations for irreverent and informative stories on “the art, science and economics of music and sound.” With just a few unique and captivating long-form posts each month, its daily traffic rivaled that of SonicScoop itself.

We’re excited to see the return of TMIAS with a new story by regular contributor Blake Madden: “Inside The Great Stalacpipe Organ—The World’s Largest Instrument.” In it, he explores the depths of Luray Caverns in Virginia, an enormous, vaulting cave that you can actually “play”, with the help of a 4-tiered organ keyboard.

The "Great Stalacpipe Organ" of Luray Caverns. It is a cave you can play like a musical instrument, triggering rubber hammers that strike the natural, tuned rock of this gargantuan underground "cathedral".

Trust Me, I’m a Scientist joins a larger content network of some of the best audio sites on the web, including SonicScoop, which specializes in news, reviews, how-tos and opinion, and The Pro Audio Files, one of the best sources anywhere around for accessible, tightly constructed, and easy-to-digest audio tutorials.

We’re also especially excited to be welcoming Justin Colletti back into a more active role at SonicScoop. Fresh off of a yearlong stint running the audio technology department at SAE New York, Justin now returns to the world of audio engineering and publishing full-time, acting as a mastering engineer at JLM studios, working on the launch of some new online instructional videos, and helping with the business and editorial development of SonicScoop and our larger content network.

The last time Justin focused his energies here, we grew our reach by almost 500% in a very short time. Now, we’re looking forward to exploiting his talents to help us to grow the business further, and help empower a whole new generation of audio writers and engineers.
