2015 AMP Awards Winners Announced at City Winery in NYC

The Association of Music Producers’ AMP Awards are a music business event like no other. A grand convergence takes place: music producers, ad agency creatives, composers, music supervisors, audio post pros, label and music publishing execs, and more come together to talk it up.

The 2015 AMP Awards were amplified every which way.

The 2015 AMP Awards were amplified every which way.

And talk…and talk…and talk. This was a crowd that was clearly thrilled to see each other, as the networking sped on nonstop before, after and during the 2015 AMP Awards. AMP has clearly been wildly successful at getting an affectionate group together – it shows there’s a need for us all to meet up more in New York City.

Fortunately for those who were focused on the stage at TriBeCa’s City Winery last night, there was plenty to see and hear. The show moved at a fast pace, and was bookended by exciting performances from artists Marian Hill and Gin Wigmore. DJ Prostyle set the welcoming vibe early on.

Allstate’s “Safe in My Hands” won Best In Show for agency Leo Burnett. “Safe in My Hands” is an original song about acceptance and understanding, written and performed by singer/songwriter Eli Lieb for ad agency Leo Burnett and Allstate Insurance’s LGBT outreach campaign, took home Best In Show honors at tonight’s 2015 AMP Awards for Music and Sound.

“Safe in My Hands” also shared in the Best Original Song category, and was one of two AMP Awards won by work entered by agency Leo Burnett. The other winner came in the category of Best Use of a Licensed Song, which went to a Swarovski film that featured the song “Hey Mami” by Sylvan Esso.

Walker, the Portland, Oregon studio, was the only music house to win two AMP Awards this year, taking honors for Outstanding Adaption and Best Use of Music for a Film or Game Trailer for its work adapting David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” for LAIKA and the film “The Boxtrolls.”

Two major brands were recognized for outstanding achievement in the use of music to define the brand. Steve Haener, Director, Media, Experiential Marketing & Brand Partnerships, accepted for Chevrolet, and Frank Cooper III, CMO, Global Consumer Engagement, PepsiCo, accepted on behalf of Pepsi. The Hall of Fame trophies were presented by Gayle Troberman, Chief Marketing Officer of iHeartMedia.

Lyle Greenfield, Founder of Bang Music, and former AMP Board President was an accommodating host. An opening title video created and produced by AMP Awards sponsor Quietman started the proceedings.

Notably, there were two winners in several key categories for this year’s Awards, with shared honors in the categories for Best Original Song, Best Original Score, Best Sound Design and Outstanding Mix.
