Propellerhead Releases Free Reason 8.3 Update

Sweden-based developers Propellerhead announced the next significant update for Reason 8.

Reason 8.3 introduces a new RV7000 mkII convolution reverb, more user requested features, access to the the free Propellerhead music-making service, and further implementation of their auto-update feature that was introduced with Reason 8.2 for quick installation.

The RV7000 mkII contains a newly developed convolution engine that can cover a variety of spaces to suit any musical genre. Some highly requested feature updates include:

  • Access the browser window from both the sequencer and the rack window.
  • Hit the Z key and quickly zoom to and from your selection.
  • Set MIDI focus in the rack without going to the sequencer.
  • Plus, you get numerous other enhancements and bug fixes to make music creation even smoother.

Lastly, their free music-making service allows users to connect the free Figure and Take apps to Reason 8.3 for creating, re-mixing, sharing, and collaborate with other musicians all over the world.

The Reason 8.3 update is free to current Reason 8 owners. Those interested in picking up the full version can get it for $449 MSRP, with Reason Esssentials for $129 MSRP, and an upgrade from previous version for $129 MSRP. Reason is available for Mac and Windows.
