Title Neve 8058
Description Neve 8058 Console Sale---$125,000

Provenance

Neil Giraldo currently owns this beautiful 70' s-era console. He has used it to record the Del Lords, Pat Benatar and many others. It is about 36 years old.

After purchase by Giraldo, it was re-capped and refurbished by David Gallo in North Hollywood and then configured for traveling by Pat Schneider who installed reinforcing metal bars running the width of the desk. No other mods that alter Class-A operation were done. The console has been in a private storage facility and not used since recording a Pat Benatar album called "INAMORATA"

Kris Kraft Kases of North Hollywood built the custom shock-mounted cases for the console as well as the included rack of three, eight-module Neve racks and power supplies.

Details

All the original Neve metal covers and panels, and console stand are included. There are also many spares, patchbay rows, and ELCO cables already prepped. The 28-input console includes 27 Neve 31102 modules (newer versions of the 1084 modules and sorry we are missing module 28), oscillator, stopwatch start/stop buttons, all meters, bus amps, talkback mic, fader modules, and some spare parts and hardware.

You also get a five-foot shock case filled with three, empty eight-space Neve racks that hold 1066, 1073, 1084, 31102 or 2264E-era modules as well as the three power supplies to run them and the five power supplies that run the console. The patch bay is in a separate flight case. It is a TRS bay with ELCO connectors. The mating ELCOs at the console end need to be installed--buzz out the multi-core cables that are already pinned.

The overall outward appearance of the console is good to excellent with no visible rust or corrosion on any of the steel parts. The paint finish is perfect without any abraded lettering on the send or pre/EQ modules. All modules match in color and age—basically like new.

The leather upholstery on the meter bridge has two damage places (cuts) and some of the faders need their knobs replaced. There are missing screws holding faders and blank panels here and there. There are only two or three missing knobs over the whole console—this board looks better than most consoles of this vintage in operation in studios today.

The Kris Kraft cartage cases are in perfect condition as the console and rack never actually made it out on the road. All covers fit perfectly and preclude the entrance of any dirt or moisture.
