Get New SoundToys’ New Devil-Loc Plug-In Free

As we reported last week, SoundToys introduced a new plug-in at SXSW – the Devil-Loc: Level Tormenter. You can get a free copy of this plug-in by finding a “sharing code” online, and SoundToys is incentivizing users to help spread the word. See below for more information.

Behold the Devil-Loc. (Do not be fooled by the simple interface...)

Inspired by the classic Shure M62 Level-Loc (a leveling amplifier for mics), the SoundToys Devil-Loc and Devil-Loc Deluxe (coming April 2011) plug-ins is classified as a “distorting compressor,” but according to SoundToys does so much more:

“Don’t be fooled by it’s simple front panel, this plug-in has a lot more cool sounds than you’d expect out of two knobs. Get crushing kick drums, to almost rhythmic level sweeps with the crazing sucking compression, to blitzed out blasting beat loops. Drive it hard and you get straight hardware sounding break-up and drive. It’s a devil in disguise, and the devil’s in the details, and the devil made us do it and all those other devil references.

Add huge sucking compression, grit, dirt, distortion, and take drums (but try it anywhere) to a wonderful hellish nightmare. It’s not for the faint of heart.”

SoundToys also quotes Fabrice “Fab” Dupont on the new plug-in: “Devil-Loc is the most fun, useful and inspiring audio destruction plug-in I’ve come across since Decapitator came out. Totally addictive.”

Head over to https://www.soundtoys.com/sxswpromo for more details and instructions on how to download your free version of Devil-Loc (via a code you must find via Facebook or elsewhere online). By sharing this code with your friends via social media, forums, email blasts, etc., users will be eligible for a number of prizes. You have to have an iLok to use this plug-in.
