Antares Announces Details of Auto-Tune for Guitar

Antares, the company responsible for the almighty Auto-Tune vocal processor, has announced a new addition to their product line — ATG-6 or Auto-Tune for guitar.

Antares is about to bust out a big new tool for guitarists.

Antares released the original Auto-Tune back in 1997 — Morten Harket of A-ha wished it had arrived sooner. Since then, the software plug-in has grown to be among the most popular vocal processors in audio world today.

Antares claims that music producers and artists will be dealing with a revolutionary product:

“Incorporating our world-renowned Auto-Tune pitch detection and manipulation along with our proprietary modeling technologies, ATG-6 is an entirely DSP-based suite of functions that offer everything you’ve always wanted from a guitar, along with capabilities you never imagined possible.

“From flawless intonation to astonishing tonal flexibility to alternate tunings that open up entirely new areas of inspiration and creativity, ATG-6 technology seriously expands the flexibility and range of the electric guitar while letting you continue to play your own way.”

An official release date and MSRP have not yet been announced, with additional features soon to be revealed.
