Germano Studios Installs New Custom Exigy Subs

A couple of the loudest rooms in NYC just got louder. This week, Germano Studios installed their new custom Exigy double 18” subwoofers in Studios 1 and 2.

These subs compliment Germano’s existing Exigy S412G monitoring systems, with amplifiers and crossovers specifically tuned to each control room.

Germano's most-frequent producer client Steve Jordan (The Verbs, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Nozuka, Jamie Squire) - at home with the new subs.

Listening back at high volumes was already a visceral experience at Germano, so we can only imagine the extent to which this body-shaking bass tips the intensity scale.

“This is a game changer,” says Troy Germano, studio owner and designer. “Our hip-hop, R&B and rock clients are in for a special treat. There is nothing like this anywhere in New York or, I believe, the world.”

Currently working out of Germano…Joan Jett & The Blackhearts are recording in Studio 1 with Kenny Laguna and Joan Jett producing, and Thom Panunzio engineering, and Ne-Yo’s been back, writing and recording new material in Studio 2 with Moses Gallart and Dave Rowland engineering.

Germano Studios hosted sessions for 11 Grammy nominated records this year, including “Album of the Year” nominees – Lady Gaga’s Born This Way and Adele’s 21.
