More about the Music Building and the evening, straight from the source:
“Discover The Music Building, a 12-story rehearsal facility established in 1979 in Times Square, and its ventures into the world of transmedia, social real-estate and live music experiences. The Music Building is a Manhattan cultural staple, as past tenants include Madonna, Billy Idol, Metallica, Interpol and The Strokes, and current tenants are creating the NYC local scene of today.
The building owners have launched community management and social networking initiatives to organize tenants, subtenants, and past tenants into a proactive music community. By organizing its constituents, the building has established partnerships which provide exposure, services, and added value to all the artists and media entrepreneurs who share the physical space
As part of Social Media Week, The Music Building is hosting tours of the building, a gallery showcasing its latest work, live performances and a party at a local secret spot.
