Avid Mbox and Mbox Mini Now Come with Pro Tools Express, No Extra Charge

In a development that increases the value proposition of their ultra-portable Mbox and Mbox Mini audio interfaces, Avid announced today that that both units now come with Pro Tools Express software included at no additional charge.

The addition of Pro Tools Express ramps up the possibilities with Mbox and Mbox Mini.

These offerings are in addition to the current Pro Tools + Mbox bundles offered for the three Mbox designs — Mbox Mini, Mbox, Mbox Pro – all of which come equipped with Pro Tools 10.

On the pricing tip, Mbox with Pro Tools Express is available now for $499, and Mbox Mini with Pro Tools Express can be had for $299. Users can upgrade from Pro Tools Express to Pro Tools 10 for $399. (See a comparison chart of the different Pro Tools offerings here.)

Pro Tools Express allows users to record, edit, and mix up to 16 stereo audio tracks, in addition to virtual instrument and MIDI tracks.
