Native Instruments Introduces Dubstep Expansion For MASCHINE

Native Instruments has just introduced Drop Squad – a new Maschine Expansion instrument designed to highlight the deep sound of dubstep and bass music culture.

Drop Squad Maschine Expansion instrument

Drop Squad includes presets from NI’s Massive bass synth – which now comes as a free download when users register or upgrade their Maschine software – bringing synthesis to the Maschine and Maschine Mikro groove sequencers for the first time.

According to Native Instruments…

The 35 kits and 120 patterns in Drop Squad contain a host of punchy drums, low-end wobbles, FX, stabs, sweeps and deep basses. An additional 10 special kits add tribal and mechanical one-shots along with many wobbles, drills and synthesized ‘vowel’ sounds that will be instantly recognizable to fans of dubstep.

Over 50 included Massive presets add a completely new element to this expansion. These dynamic presets have been created by top producers to cover the full spectrum of wobbles, growls, leads, sub basses, chords and atmospheres found in dubstep and bass music – all intuitively controllable through Maschine’s top row Macro knobs without having to open Massive’s user interface.

A compact version of Drop Squad is also available for iMaschine – the $4.99 groove sketchpad for iPhone / iPod touch. Drop Squad is available at the NI Online Shop for $59.
