Unfiltered Tracks, connecting music supervisors directly with authentic indie music, has debuted.

A new resource to watch out for is Unfiltered Tracks (UT). Borne of the indie label Unfiltered Records (Ivy, The Postmarks, Paco, Brookville), UT is an online music licensing house that specializes in moody and atmospheric indie pop, which music supervisors can search out with its efficient search engine.

Founded and run by prolific artists Andy Chase (Ivy, Brookville) and Christopher Moll (The Postmarks), UT offers quick access to a wide catalog of affordable, pre-cleared tracks that qualify as 100% authentic indie style music. (See the SonicScoop feature on Brookville here.)

A songwriter of the highest order, Chase knows licensing first-hand: Ivy’s music has been featured in over 100 TV shows and films worldwide, and stands as one of the most licensed indie pop groups in the country. Meanwhile, Moll’s group The Postmarks are a college radio darlings with plenty of good press themselves, from SPIN to Rolling Stone and Pitchfork.

UT is an artist-direct service that provides its clients with a one-stop shop where all represented songs have publishing and mechanical rights pre-cleared, since all UT composers own their publishing and masters.

To further streamline the process, no membership or sign-in is required to search the company’s search engine, and the site offers a free MP3 download for prospective clients to test the track within the context of their project.
