TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik Introduces TDA-1 and -2 Direct Boxes at AES
TELEFUNKEN is ready to show off some new gear at the 141st AES Convention in LA this week. Up first is two new DI boxes, the TDA-1(mono) and the TDA-2(dual).
Both of the designs house Class-A FET circuitry with custom-wound output transformers by OEP/Carnhill, made in the UK. TELEFUNKEN mentions that the combo produces a rich, and warm character for a variety of applications.
The circuit boards feature gold-plated traces for maximum conductivity and are hand-assembled exclusively with through-hole components providing a secure and reliable connection compared to common surface-mount technology. Each DI is housed in a durable aluminum housing with heavy-duty toggle switches that engage a -15dB pad and ground lift.
Four models include mono and dual I/O of both FET and passive designs. All four are scheduled to start shipping early December 2016. Pricing TBA.
