Detroit Free Press: Jack White Opens Third Man Pressing in Detroit

The vinyl bottleneck just got some much-needed relief.

Jack White of the White Stripes has swooped in — probably with a cape on — and opened the long-awaited Third Man Pressing, a 10,000 sq. ft. vinyl pressing facility in the heart of Detroit. In one deft strike, White and his colleagues are adding the capacity for 5,000 vinyl records a day to the world, while adding jobs for 50 people (not to mention a seven-figure initial investment in the facility).

It’s been two years since plans for the pressing plant started coming together, and Saturday’s opening is just the beginning of seeing them through.
